Who we are

rundown.city is operated from Germany. Contact: hello@mygn.de.

Visiting the site

Our server, hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany, writes connection data to log files: your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and your browser identification. We use this to deliver the site and to keep it secure and stable. These logs are deleted after 14 days.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which processes your IP address to encrypt the connection, speed up delivery and block attacks. We also review aggregated statistics from Cloudflare, such as daily visits, countries and device types.

MCP interface

The public MCP interface at mcp.mygn.de/public is anonymous and read-only. There are no accounts and no sign-in; beyond connection data, we process no personal data.

Calls produce server logs with your IP address, the time and the requested path. We keep them for operation and security and delete them automatically after 14 days. Cloudflare sits in front as a CDN here too; see "Visiting the site" above.

Features you use

Search. Search queries are processed by our server and by OpenAI, L.L.C. (USA), our provider for interpreting them. Queries are stored in our search log for 30 days, without your IP address or any identifier, and may also be cached for up to 15 minutes. Please do not type personal details into the search field.

Address lookup. If you enter an address or place, that text is sent to the Nominatim service of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom) to convert it into coordinates. Lookups are held in the server's memory for up to 15 minutes and are not written to any log or database.

Address suggestions. While you type in the location field, suggestions are fetched from the Photon geocoding service of komoot GmbH (Potsdam, Germany; photon.komoot.io, based on OpenStreetMap data). Only the fragment you have typed so far and the centre of the city are transmitted; we do not forward your IP address, the request comes from our server. We do not store what you type (suggestions are held in the server's memory for up to 15 minutes only and are not written to any log or database).

Voice input. If you use the microphone, your browser asks for permission and its own speech service processes the recording, for example Google in Chrome. We do not receive the audio.

Your location. "Use my location" (also in a note when you open the page, where the page offers one) asks your browser for permission. Once you have granted it, the page may, where it offers this, find your location when you open it, without another tap. The page names your position from the districts of the city; for that, your coordinates do not leave your device. Only where the page shows you an address for your location are your coordinates sent to our server for it and passed on to the Photon geocoding service of komoot GmbH (Potsdam, Germany) without your IP address; we do not store them and do not write them to any log or database. The position (with such an address) is stored on your device together with your other settings (see Settings below). Everything else, such as distances and the radius filter, is calculated in your browser.

Map. The map library, style, fonts and map tiles are served from our own servers. The tiles are built from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) using OpenFreeMap's planet extract, and opening the map makes no request to any third party.

Settings. Your color scheme, chosen or found location (with the address found for it), filters, whether the map is hidden, the map app you chose last and whether you closed the location note are stored in your browser's local storage, not in cookies. You can clear them in your browser at any time.

We use no cookies and no advertising. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Legal bases and transfers

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in a working, secure and useful website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for site delivery, security and statistics, and on your use of a feature for search, address lookup and maps. Our providers in the USA and the United Kingdom process data on the basis of their standard data processing terms, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses where required.

Your rights

You can request access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to processing. Write to hello@mygn.de. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority; for us that is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA).

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for how to respond to it, and this site does not react to it. We do not track visitors across other websites in any case.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We update this notice when our processing changes and revise the effective date above.
